Why borrowers choose i-Credit licensed money lender in Singapore?

Every licensed moneylender in Singapore charges under the same caps. Nobody can legally undercut anyone on interest, so a lender claiming to be cheapest is either confused or not licensed.

What actually differs between licensed lenders is how fast they answer, when they are open, what they will accept as proof of income, and whether you get a straight answer when the news is bad.

Over a decade of compliant, transparent lending under the Ministry of Law.

Mandate licensed moneylender cap

Four charges are possible on a licensed loan in Singapore, and law caps all four. These caps bind every licensed moneylender, so any lender quoting more than this is not licensed.

Below $10,000Up to $3,000
$10,000 to below $20,000Up to $3,000

What is a Licensed Moneylender in Singapore?

A licensed moneylender in Singapore is a company authorized to offer moneylending services under the Ministry of Law’s regulations. Licensed moneylenders such as i-Credit have to operate within the clear MOL rules designed to protect borrowers.

Licensed moneylender, legal money lender, authorised money lender, registered money lender: in Singapore SG these all describe the same thing, a company holding a moneylender’s licence from the Ministry of Law. The next section explains what that licence actually obliges us to do.

How to verify if a moneylender is licensed?

How to verify if a moneylender is licensed?

The registry is public and free to search, follow this 3 steps:
  1. Open the Registry of Moneylenders on the MinLaw site
  2. Search the company name
  3. Check the licence number against the one displayed on the lender’s premises and website.

A legitimate lender can be verified on the official Registry and will never need to hide who they are or how they operate. See the list of licensed moneylenders in Singapore.

Is i-Credit a legal money lender in Singapore?

Yes. i-Credit Pte Ltd holds moneylender’s licence No. 106/2026, issued by the Registrar of Moneylenders under the Ministry of Law, and the company appears on the public Registry of Moneylenders.

A legal moneylender in Singapore is one licensed under the Moneylenders Act 2008, listed on the MinLaw registry, and bound by statutory caps on interest, fees and total cost.

What a licensed moneylender is forbidden to do

The Act does not only cap prices. It governs conduct, and these are the lines a licensed lender cannot cross:
  • Advertise by SMS, WhatsApp, phone call or flyer. Licensed lenders may only advertise in three places: their own website, business directories, and their own premises. Any loan offer that arrives on your phone unrequested is from an unlicensed lender.
  • Hold your NRIC, passport, work pass, ATM card or SingPass credentials. Ever, for any reason.
  • Ask you to sign a blank or incomplete contract.
  • Grant a loan without explaining the terms in a language you understand, or without giving you a copy of the contract and a receipt for every payment.
  • Use threats, abuse or harassment to collect a debt.
i-Credit does not advertise by SMS or phone call.

Coming from elsewhere on the East-West Line?

Our office is opposite Aljunied MRT on the East-West Line, one stop from Paya Lebar interchange, which puts the Circle Line within reach as well.

  • Geylang. We are in Geylang, on Lorong 23. If you are searching for a Geylang moneylender, this is a walk rather than a journey. Lorong 23 runs off Geylang Road between Aljunied and Kallang.
  • Paya Lebar. One stop west on the East-West Line, about 3 minutes on the train from Paya Lebar interchange. If you work at Paya Lebar Quarter or City Plaza, it is a lunch-hour trip.
  • Ubi. Ubi is on the Downtown Line, so the usual route is DTL to MacPherson, then a short interchange to Paya Lebar and one stop to Aljunied, around 15 minutes end to end. Driving from the Ubi industrial estates takes about 10 minutes.
  • Eunos. Two stops east on the East-West Line, about 4 minutes. Anyone needing a moneylender near Eunos is closer to us than to most of the CBD lenders.
  • Kallang. One stop west, about 3 minutes, or a 15-minute walk along Geylang Road from the Kallang side.
  • Tai Seng. Circle Line to Paya Lebar, then one stop on the East-West Line, roughly 12 minutes.

Is i-Credit a 24-hour money lender?

No, and neither is any licensed moneylender in Singapore. Because the contract has to be signed at licensed premises, nobody can legally hand over cash at 3am. Anyone advertising a genuine 24-hour cash service is not licensed.

What is available round the clock: the online form, document uploads and a callback request. Send those overnight and you will hear from us when the office opens at 11am, which for most applicants means money the same day.

Frequently Asked Questions about i-Credit Licensed Moneylender

Is i-Credit a legal money lender in Singapore?

Yes. i-Credit Pte Ltd holds moneylender’s licence No. 106/2026 from the Ministry of Law and appears on the public Registry of Moneylenders. To check for yourself: open the Registry of Moneylenders on the MinLaw website, search “i-Credit”, and match the licence number to the one shown at the top of this page and on our office door.
Every lawful moneylender in Singapore appears on the Ministry of Law’s public Registry of Moneylenders, so if a lender is not on that list they are not authorised, whatever they call themselves. Search the company name on the registry, check the licence number matches what they display, and confirm the address on the register is the address you are being asked to visit. An unlicensed lender will usually fail the third test first, because they do not have licensed premises.
Every licensed moneylender works under the same statutory caps, so reliability comes down to conduct rather than price: how long they have held a licence, whether they have a real office you can walk into, whether you get the quote in writing before signing, and what their reviews say. i-Credit has been licensed since 2009, works from one office at 82 Lorong 23 Geylang, gives every quote in writing before any signature, and its Google reviews are public and dated.
No licensed moneylender in Singapore operates a 24-hour cash counter, because the law requires the loan contract to be signed at licensed premises, so anyone offering round-the-clock disbursement is unlicensed. i-Credit’s form, document upload and callback request run 24 hours. Send an application at 2am and we will call when the office opens at 11am.
start online, but the contract itself must be signed in person at the lender’s licensed premises, which is a borrower protection written into the Moneylenders Act. At i-Credit the enquiry, documents and in-principle decision all happen before you travel.
Total charges are capped at 100% of the principal, so on a $3,000 loan the most you can ever owe in interest, late interest, late fees and admin fees combined is $3,000. Within that: interest 4% per month, late interest 4% per month on the overdue amount only, admin fee 10% of principal charged once, late fee $60 per month maximum.
i-Credit is open on Sunday from 11am to 4pm, which most licensed moneylenders are not. Saturday hours are the same. Public holidays are usually closed, so call +65 6222 5222 to check.
Yes, we review your Credit Bureau report, but unlike a bank we weigh current income and repayment capacity more heavily than a historical grade. Being blacklisted by a bank does not automatically mean a licensed moneylender will decline you.
NRIC or work pass, your last 3 months of payslips or 12 months of CPF contribution history, proof of address dated within the last 3 months (a utility bill or bank statement), and an employment letter if you started the job recently. If unsure, call us and we will advise you accordingly.
There is no penalty for early settlement.
If the loan is repaid within a week of disbursement, no interest is charged.
The late fee is capped at $60 for that month and late interest at 4% per month on the overdue amount only, not on your whole outstanding balance. Call us before the due date if you know you will be short. Restructuring a payment date costs nothing and is a great deal easier than unwinding arrears.
Your loan and repayment record are reported to the Moneylenders Credit Bureau, which licensed lenders see, rather than to the bank credit bureau used for mortgages and credit cards. Repaying on time builds a record that supports larger amounts later.
